You will soon get a feeling of a different style of swimming. In the beginning, it might be a little bit odd, but after a while, you will experience the "fin swimming style", which can also be trained with ordinary monofins. Our integrated monofins differ a little bit from ordinary ones, because they are slightly heavier and stiffer. We recommend to do some "fin swimming training" before you try on the mermaid tail swimming costume for the very first time. To get an idea of this typical swimming style watch and learn more from the serial "H2o Just Add Water". For background information watch the "Making of", here you'll find some important details.  Are there any restrictions wearing the mermaid tail swimming costume in public (indoor) swimming pools ?Well, to tell the truth, we also have been unsure, when we first went to a public pool. Finally, we gathered all our courage and just tried it out - Nobody complained! It's important to make sure, that the pool is not overcrowded and you have enough space to move your fin without hurting anybody! We only tried it in Germany, so we recommend to ask the superintendent first, to make sure you won't cause any trouble. And, remember that there is plenty of space in lakes and by the sea!  What's the weight of a monofin ?The monofin weigh 1.76 lb, but they don't pull you under, because it's approximately the same density as water. Only if the child is very little or very light it might be more tricky to learn how to swim.   Are swimming and diving skills required before I try out the mermaid tail swimming costume for the very first time ?Unconditional - YES! The mermaid tail swimming costume is not a swimming aid and must not be used by non-swimmers.   Is it hard to swim with the mermaid tail swimming costume ?No, not really! But you should be able to swim before. Try out the "fin swimming style" and get used to it, before you try the mermaid tail swimming costume (see Question #1)   Is it hard to put on the monofin ?Actually, it is not really difficult to put it on - but in the beginning you will have to practice it a little bit. It's whorth doing some "dry run" at home on a soft carpet. Once you've dressed and stripped down a few times at home you'll find it easy to put it on in water. As soon as you're experienced you may dress on the strairs of the pool have way in water. We will upload a demo video stream how to wear and unwear the meermaid tail swimming costume! Don't try to move yourself outside water when wearing the meermaid tail swim costume.
